Join our team as a Deputy Maths Hub Lead: Secondary

The Great North Maths Hub seeks to extend and strengthen its work supporting Secondary schools. We are therefore now seeking to recruit a Deputy Maths Hub Lead to join our established leadership and management team. The post will have a time commitment of one day per week with allowance for flexibility in the day to allow this to work around other commitments and school timetables. Initially this post is for one year. 

The role will involve working as part of the leadership team and with strategic partners and will include:

  • supporting recruitment of the desired number and type of schools to the Maths Hub activity, including engaging directly with school leadership in hard to reach schools
  • acting as the public face of the Maths Hub, communicating and promoting the Maths Hub’s vision and ambition for maths teaching and maths teachers and the impact of its work
  • understanding the needs and priorities of schools in the area, including establishing effective links and regular contact with strategic partners, in order to help inform Maths Hub planning 
  • clarifying the local leaders of maths education (LLME) position in the area, promoting LLME development opportunities in a targeted way, identifying potential LLME and ensuring targeted investment in their development
  • line managing LLME in the area of responsibility (Secondary) and identifying any development needs.
